Silent Inscription-Sessiz Yazıt

Silent Inscription is an original contemporary relief artwork from my Living Textures series. Inspired by ancient inscriptions, weathered stone monuments, and the enduring power of symbolic language, this piece explores the relationship between memory, silence, and the passage of time.

The artwork is entirely handmade using high-density rigid foam, intuitively sculpted without sketches or molds. The surface is carefully hardened with controlled heat using a blowtorch, reinforced with five layers of mineral-based filler, prepared with three coats of primer, and finished with multiple layers of water-based pigments. A final matte spray varnish protects the relief while preserving its rich texture and depth.

The vertical composition resembles an ancient stone tablet carrying mysterious symbols whose meanings have faded with time. Rather than presenting a readable message, the inscription invites viewers to create their own interpretation, reminding us that some stories survive not through words, but through their silent presence.

Like every artwork in the Living Textures collection, Silent Inscription is entirely handmade, signed by the artist, one of a kind, and impossible to reproduce exactly.

Sessiz Yazıt, Living Textures serime ait özgün bir çağdaş rölyef çalışmasıdır. Antik taş yazıtlardan, zamanın aşındırdığı anıtlardan ve sembollerin kalıcılığından ilham alan bu eser; sessizlik, hafıza ve zaman arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırır.

Eser, yüksek yoğunluklu sert straforun tamamen elde ve doğaçlama biçimde şekillendirilmesiyle oluşturulmuştur. Yüzey kontrollü olarak pürmüzle sertleştirilmiş, dayanıklılığı artırmak amacıyla beş kat mineral esaslı derz dolgu uygulanmış, ardından üç kat astar boya ile hazırlanmıştır. Son aşamada çeşitli su bazlı pigment boyalar ile katman katman renklendirilmiş ve mat sprey vernik uygulanarak dokusal yapı uzun yıllar korunacak şekilde tamamlanmıştır.

Dikey kompozisyon, eski bir taş yazıtı andıran gizemli semboller içerir. Bu semboller belirli bir mesaj vermekten çok, zaman içinde anlamı unutulmuş izleri temsil eder. İzleyiciyi kendi yorumunu oluşturmaya davet eder ve bazı hikâyelerin kelimelerle değil, sessiz izlerle yaşamaya devam ettiğini hatırlatır.

Sessiz Yazıt, Living Textures koleksiyonundaki tüm eserler gibi tamamen el yapımı, imzalı, tek ve özgün bir sanat eseridir. Aynısı yeniden üretilemez.
