Silent Cage-Sessiz Kafes

Silent Cage is an original contemporary relief artwork created from a combination of natural wood, metal wire, and layered textures. The irregular wooden elements form a fragile inner structure, surrounded and confined by a network of wire.

The cage represents more than a physical enclosure. It suggests invisible boundaries, restraint, isolation, and the quiet struggles that can exist beneath the surface. The intense red and orange tones create a sense of tension, while the raw character of the wood introduces a contrasting feeling of vulnerability and resilience.

The work is entirely handmade, with each wooden element individually shaped, arranged, and integrated into the composition. The imperfections, textures, and natural variations of the materials are intentionally preserved.

Silent Cage does not tell a single story. It leaves the interpretation open to the viewer: Are we trapped by the cage, or do we create the cage ourselves?

Sessiz Kafes, ahşabın doğal dokusu ile metal telin sert ve düzensiz yapısını bir araya getiren özgün bir çağdaş rölyef çalışmasıdır. Eserin merkezinde yer alan yapı, çevresini saran tel örgü tarafından kuşatılmış ve sınırlandırılmıştır. Kırmızı ve turuncu tonlar, ahşabın doğal yüzeyiyle birleşerek gerilim, sıkışmışlık ve içsel mücadele duygusunu güçlendirir.

Eserdeki kafes yalnızca fiziksel bir sınırı değil; görünmeyen engelleri, bastırılmış düşünceleri ve insanın kendi içinde oluşturduğu sınırları da simgeler. Sessiz oluşu ise eserin herhangi bir şey söylemeden, yalnızca form, doku ve malzeme aracılığıyla bir hikâye anlatmasından gelir.

Tamamen el işçiliğiyle oluşturulan eser, farklı ahşap parçaları, metal tel ve katmanlı yüzey uygulamalarının birleşiminden meydana gelmiştir. Her parça özgün biçimde yerleştirilmiş ve yüzeydeki doğal düzensizlikler korunmuştur.
