Silent Dwellers 1 – Pinocchio (Sessiz Sakinler 1 – Pinokyo)

The Silent Dwellers series is composed of figures that do not speak, yet carry a strong presence.
These works are created from time-worn wooden fragments, each bearing its own history, texture, and silence.

Wood is not merely a material for me; it is memory.
Cracks, holes, and traces of time are not concealed but embraced as part of the narrative.
The figures remain anonymous — neither fully human nor object. They exist in an in-between state, suspended in quiet anticipation.

“Silent Dwellers 1 – Pinocchio” is a visual metaphor for transformation, becoming, and the desire to be human.
This Pinocchio is not the speaking character of the tale, but an unspoken consciousness — waiting.
A solitary presence within a silent crowd.

These works do not impose a single meaning on the viewer.

Here, silence is not absence, but a shared language. 

Sessiz Sakinler serisi, konuşmayan ama varlığı güçlü olan figürlerden oluşur.
Bu çalışmalar, zamanla aşınmış ahşap parçalarının bir araya gelmesiyle oluşur; her parça kendi geçmişini, dokusunu ve sessizliğini taşır.

Ahşap benim için sadece bir malzeme değil, hafızadır.
Çatlaklar, delikler ve izler gizlenmez; aksine anlatının bir parçası hâline gelir.
Figürler anonimdir — ne tam insandırlar ne de nesne. Arada, bir bekleyiş hâlindedirler.

“Sessiz Sakinler 1 – Pinokyo”, insan olma arzusu, dönüşüm ve içsel yolculuk üzerine görsel bir metafordur.
Buradaki Pinokyo, masaldaki gibi konuşan bir karakter değil; henüz dile gelmemiş bir bilinçtir.
Kalabalık içinde yalnız, sessizlik içinde fark edilen bir varlık.

Bu işler, izleyiciyi tek bir anlamla sınırlamaz.
Sessizlik, burada bir eksiklik değil; ortak bir dil olarak önerilir.
